Our Story

We're not in the vending business. We're in the business of creating workplace refreshment experiences people remember.

It Was Never About the Machine

“We don't sell coffee machines.

We sell the memory of the coffee in the cup.

The machine is simply the vehicle that delivers the memory.”

Trevor Marshall
Founder & Managing Director

People often ask us what H2O Vend does.

We could tell them we supply coffee machines, vending machines, water coolers and Smart Fridges.

But that wouldn't really answer the question.

For more than 30 years, we've always known that the equipment isn't the product.

The experience is.

Nobody remembers the make or model of the coffee machine in the corner of the office.

They remember the first coffee that helped them through a busy morning. The conversation with a colleague over lunch. The cold drink after working outside on a hot summer's day. The five-minute break that reset the rest of their afternoon.

Those are the moments people remember.

The equipment simply makes them possible.

That philosophy doesn't just shape how we serve our customers. It shapes how we work with each other.

That belief has shaped H2O Vend since the very beginning.

Every machine we install, every product we stock and every service visit we carry out has one purpose: creating workplace refreshment experiences that people genuinely enjoy.

Because at the end of the day, we don't sell machines…

We help create the moments people remember.

What Drives Us

The values that have guided H2O Vend for more than 30 years aren't written on a poster or hidden away in a handbook.

They're reflected in the way we work every day.

Trevor has always encouraged our engineers and operators with a simple piece of advice:

“Always do the right thing for the person that follows you in, because one day, it could be you.”

At first glance, it sounds like advice for servicing a coffee machine or filling a vending machine.

In reality, it's a way of thinking that's shaped H2O Vend for more than 30 years.

It means leaving every machine cleaner than you found it.

Taking a few extra minutes to complete a job properly.

Spotting a potential problem before it becomes an inconvenience for a customer.

Thinking beyond today's task and considering the next engineer, the next operator, the next colleague—or the next customer.

It's a simple principle built on respect, accountability and pride in doing the job well.

That same mindset influences every part of H2O Vend. From the way we maintain equipment and manage stock, to the relationships we build with our customers and the support we provide long after an installation is complete.

Because doing the right thing isn't something you do occasionally.

It's simply the way we've always done business.

What We Want To Be Remembered For

These are the standards we hold ourselves to, every day, in every customer relationship, every installation and every service visit.

Reliability

Turning up when we say we will

Keeping our promises.

Solving problems quickly.

Giving our customers one less thing to worry about.

Quality

Creating experiences people enjoy

From every coffee served to every machine we maintain, quality is at the heart of everything we do.

Trust

Built over years, earned every day

Lasting partnerships are built through honesty, consistency and always doing the right thing.

Built on the Same Principles Since 1995

Businesses evolve.

Technology moves on.

Customer expectations change.

But some principles are worth holding onto.

When Trevor Marshall founded H2O Vend in 1995, his ambition wasn't simply to supply equipment.. He wanted to build a business that people trusted. One that delivered excellent service, built lasting relationships and genuinely cared about every customer, regardless of their size.

That philosophy shaped every decision in the early years. Every delivery, every installation and every service visit was an opportunity to earn trust and build a reputation.

By 2002, H2O Vend had already outgrown its beginnings. As this newspaper feature shows, Trevor was talking about managed services, flexibility and putting the customer first long before those ideas became industry buzzwords.

Three decades later, that same customer-first approach still shapes every decision we make.

Over the years we've expanded our product range, invested in new technology, grown our warehouse and fleet, and built an incredible team that supports businesses across East Anglia every day.

Today, our coffee machines can report faults before customers even notice them. Our Smart Fridges use artificial intelligence to recognise products automatically, while telemetry and forecasting help us improve availability and service every day.

But while the tools have changed, the reason we invest in them hasn't.

Everything we do is still driven by the same goal Trevor had in 1995.

To make workplace refreshments something people enjoy—not something they have to think about.

The technology has changed.

The principles haven't.

Looking Forward

The way people work has changed dramatically over the last three decades, and workplace refreshments have changed with it.

Today's workplaces expect more than a coffee machine in the corner or a vending machine in the staff room. They expect choice. Convenience. Healthier options. Cashless payments. Fresh food. Sustainable solutions. Technology that simply works.

Most importantly, they expect a partner who understands their workplace and evolves with them.

We're continuing to invest in smarter technology, from AI-powered Smart Fridges and real-time telemetry to digital payment solutions and data-driven forecasting—not because technology is exciting in itself, but because it helps us create better workplace refreshment experiences.

At the same time, we're investing in something that technology can never replace.

Our People.

The relationships we build with our customers, the experience of our team, and the personal service we've become known for remain at the heart of everything we do.

“We believe the best technology should support great service, not replace it.”

As workplaces continue to evolve, so will we. We'll keep exploring new ideas, embracing innovation and sharing the insights we've gained from more than 30 years in the industry.

But whatever the future brings, our purpose will remain the same.

To create workplace refreshment experiences people genuinely enjoy, supported by service our customers can trust and a commitment to doing the right thing.

Our Promise

We won't always be the cheapest.

We're building a business that's remembered.

Remembered for answering the phone when it matters.

Remembered for solving problems before they become frustrations.

Remembered for knowing our customers by name.

Remembered for caring about the experience, not just the equipment.

Because we believe people don't remember the machine.

They remember…

They remember the coffee in the cup.

The refreshing drink on a hot afternoon.

The conversation with a colleague.

The five-minute break that made a busy day a little better.

Those are the moments that matter.

We don't sell coffee machines.

We sell the memory of the coffee in the cup.

The machine is simply the vehicle that delivers the memory.
