We're Hiring: Full-Time Trainee Service Engineer – Tilney St Lawrence Based
We’re looking for a practical, enthusiastic person to join the H2O Vend team as a full-time Trainee Service Engineer
You don’t need to have worked as a service engineer before, and we’re not looking for someone with a long list of technical qualifications.
What we are looking for is the right attitude, practical ability and a genuine willingness to learn.
If you’re good with your hands, enjoy figuring out how things work, are comfortable using tools and like solving problems, we can teach you the rest.
You’ll work alongside our experienced team, learning how to install, service and repair the vending machines, coffee machines, water coolers and increasingly sophisticated technology that keeps our customers refreshed every day.
The Role
Salary: Dependent on experience, with opportunity to progress
Hours: Full-time, Monday to Friday (Saturday morning on-call rota when fully trained)
Overtime: Available as required
Holiday: Statutory UK holiday entitlement
Location: Tilney St Lawrence, near King’s Lynn, with travel to customer sites
This is a varied, hands-on role. Much of your working day will be spent visiting customer sites across the region, but most days will require attendance at our Tilney St Lawrence base, so please consider the daily commute when applying.
There will occasionally be early starts, longer journeys and overtime, so some flexibility around working hours is required.
What You’ll Be Doing
Working alongside our experienced team, you’ll learn to:
Install, service and repair vending machines, coffee machines and water coolers
Diagnose mechanical, electrical and equipment faults
Carry out routine servicing and preventative maintenanceService and sanitise water coolers
Prepare, set up and test equipment before installation
Work with cashless payment systems, telemetry and other electronic systems
Deal with customers and help resolve problems on site
Complete basic service records and paperwork
Carry out occasional customer deliveries
Look after your Company vehicle, tools and equipment
Full training will be provided as you develop your skills, knowledge and confidence.

Flexible around working hours when required
A good basic standard of English and Maths is required.
Previous engineering experience is not essential.

Driving & Physical Requirements
This is a mobile field-service role, so a full UK driving licence held for at least two to three years is essential.
You’ll need to be a confident and competent driver and comfortable driving larger commercial vans.
This is also a physically active, hands-on role requiring good manual dexterity and practical ability. Some manual handling and lifting is involved, particularly during installations and deliveries.
Appropriate lifting equipment, handling aids and additional assistance are provided where required.

A Little About Us
H2O Vend is a family-run vending and refreshment business based at Tilney St Lawrence, near King’s Lynn.
For over 30 years, we’ve supplied, installed and maintained vending machines, coffee equipment, water coolers and refreshment systems for businesses across the region.
The industry has changed enormously during that time. Today’s equipment combines mechanical and electrical systems with cashless payments, telemetry, remote monitoring and increasingly sophisticated electronics – so there’s always something new to learn.
We’re a relatively small team, so you won’t simply become another number. You’ll work alongside experienced people, learn a broad range of skills and have the opportunity to take on more responsibility as your experience develops.
